Can Disaster Volunteers Help Meet Your Agency Needs?

Can Disaster Volunteers Help Meet Your Agency Needs?

If you’re looking for volunteers to assist with the aftermath of the San Fernando Valley Wildfire, you’re in the right place.

Through our Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC) we are identifying community needs and placing them in queue for when appropriate volunteers become available. We refer pre-matched volunteers to support community-based organizations in their response and recovery efforts. We are focused on matching volunteers to needs based on required skills and experience in order to maximize the impact of volunteer support.

We accept volunteer needs from 501c3 nonprofit organizations, schools and government agencies. We cannot accept volunteer requests to support individual needs or requests from for-profit entities. (For requests to support individual needs or for-profit entities, we recommend calling 3-1-1, the City of Los Angeles' information resource line. You can also visit them online.)

To get started, please register as a partner. Once you complete the brief online registration, you will be asked to complete a Volunteer Request Form and submit it to us (see Volunteer Request Form section below).

If you are already a registered partner with Volunteer Los Angeles, continue to the Volunteer Request Form section below.

Volunteer Request Form

Registered partner agencies must complete the Volunteer Request Form and submit it as an attachment to disasterrequest@volunteerlosangeles.org. This will provide us with more information and insight when we contact you to further discuss your volunteer needs. We will be in-touch within 24 hours of your submission.

If you have a question that requires an immediate reply, please email disasterrequest@volunteerlosangeles.org and we will respond as soon as possible.

Please Keep in Mind

  • We will need to establish an MOU with your agency before we can refer volunteers. We will discuss this further when we contact you following your submission of the Volunteer Request Form.
  • We will need to confirm that the location that you will have volunteers work has received safety clearance. We will discuss this further when we contact you following your submission of the Volunteer Request Form.
  • We will provide safety guidelines and volunteer management best practices for working with volunteers in this disaster situation.
  • We cannot guarantee that all volunteer requests will be filled.
